Which groups of three Mega Millions numbers have never come up?
Mega Millions has been drawn as 5 numbers from 70 plus a Mega Ball from 24 since April 2025. Everything on this page counts only the 163 draws since that change.
Of the 54,740 groups of three the Mega Millions pool allows, 53,136 have never been drawn in 163 draws, where chance predicts 53,134.
A group waits because there are a great many slots to fill, not because its numbers are unlucky. The one thing that does mark the waiting list out is how long each group has been available to be drawn, and that is what the rows below are arranged around. Your own numbers go in the box further down.
What was measured ten groups per draw
A group of three is three of the pool's numbers in no order. Draw 163 was 1419214567, which holds ten groups of three, so across 163 draws the record has drawn 1,630 groups counting repeats, and 1,604 of them were different, against the 54,740 the pool allows.
One named group sits inside one draw with probability 10 in 54,740, about 1.8 chances in ten thousand at the pool of 70, so a group goes unseen through a draw almost every time and the predictions below are those near misses multiplied together over the draws that could have held it. This game has drawn from one pool of 70 numbers throughout the record read here, so every group has had the same 163 chances. Each prediction is still summed over a group's own run of draws, which stays right if the pool ever changes.

The rows are cut from the pool alone, before any draw is read, so that each holds about the same number of groups, between 6,473 and 7,079 of them. That makes the shares in the last two columns comparable from row to row. Every group here has had the same chances, so chance predicts the same 97.1 in a hundred waiting in every row, and the record runs from 96.7 to 97.3 in a hundred. The widest gap between a row and its own prediction is 0.40 in a hundred, in the row from 83 to 95. Some row has to be the widest of eight, so that is where a list of this length starts rather than a finding about those sums.
Nothing in the tables here is printed in red, and that is deliberate rather than an omission. The groups are not independent of one another: one draw lifts ten groups at once and they share numbers. Expectation is additive all the same, which is why every prediction above is exact, but the spread of these counts would need the covariance between groups that share numbers, and that is not honestly available. A range would have to be invented, so none is given. The figures on this page that do carry ranges are read a different way, draw by draw, further down.
Recent trend last 100 draws, then blocks of 20
Red marks a figure outside the range ordinary variation produces
The same record read the other way round, one draw at a time. Going into a draw some groups are already on record, and the rest of that draw's ten groups are first timers. That count has an exact prediction and an exact range, because a draw's prediction is read off the draws before it and never off itself. The first 100 draws brought 985 first timers against a predicted 991, and the last 100 brought 981 against 980. Chance predicts the fall between the two: the fuller the record, the more often a draw repeats a group it has already had.
First timers per draw, one point per block of 20 draws
result for the blockrange ordinary variation allowsoutside that range
Oldest block on the left, newest on the right. The band is what chance predicts for those same draws, worked out from each draw's own pool and from the groups on record going into it. It falls towards the right, because a fuller record leaves a draw fewer groups to bring in for the first time. One point sits outside the band. Across eight blocks, chance alone puts 0.36 of them outside, so a point outside would not be explained by the number of blocks read.
Applied to this draw draw 163 · 2026-10-27
Draw 163 was 1419214567 from a pool of 70, which holds ten groups of three. Of those, ten had never been drawn before, where chance predicted 9.7, which is 0.5 standard errors above it.
The first five of them, in order, each off the waiting list for good.
Try your own numbers which of their groups are still waiting
Three numbers from 70 are enough, and up to five are read, a whole draw's worth. Every group of three they make comes back with its record, the ones still waiting first.
Nothing typed yet, so these are the lowest five numbers the pool has.
Those numbers make ten groups of three. Of those, ten have never been drawn, where chance predicts 9.7.
