How many Mega Millions numbers in a draw end in the same digit?
Mega Millions has been drawn as 5 numbers from 70 plus a Mega Ball from 24 since April 2025. Everything on this page counts only the 158 draws since that change.
In 7.6% of Mega Millions draws, three or more numbers end in the same digit. Chance predicts 5.8%.
Across 158 draws that happened 12 times where 9 were predicted. Draws where every number has a different last digit came up 29.7% of the time, against a predicted 35.0%.

How to read this the groups are not equal
Every number belongs to the group of its last digit: 071727 and so on. The groups are not the same size, and they change with the pool. Under a pool of 49 the digit 0 holds only 10203040, because there is no 50. The chance prediction counts each group's size from every draw's own pool, so no digit is handed a bigger or smaller share than it should have.
The dashed band on each bar is the range an appearance count wanders in on its own. A bar inside the band has found nothing.

| Every number a different last digit | 47 | 55 | -15.0% |
| Two share a last digit, no more | 99 | 93 | +5.9% |
| Three share one | 11 | 9 | +23.3% |
| Four or more share one | 1 | 0 | +244.1% |

The recent run latest 140 draws
In the last 100 draws, 6.0% had three or more numbers ending in the same digit. Over the whole record it is 7.6%, and chance predicts 5.8% for these draws. That is inside the range ordinary variation allows for 100 draws.

A good run says where the measure has been, not where it is going. Each draw is drawn afresh, and every number has the same chance next time whatever its last digit has done lately.
Applied to the latest draw draw 158 · 2026-10-09
Every number in this draw ended in a different digit.
Over the last 100 draws the digit furthest above its predicted share is 3 (+12.0%). The numbers ending in 3 in today's pool are 03132333435363; 1 of them was in the latest draw.
Whichever digit leads, it will always be one of ten, and the leader changes as draws are added. Each number in the pool has the same 5 in 70 chance next time.
Why the top digit is not a discovery
The digit 0 leads, at +11.4%, and 5 trails, at -20.3%. Ten digits always produce a first and a last, whether or not anything is going on. None of the ten sits outside the range ordinary variation produces.
These figures describe draws that have already happened. They do not say anything about the next one. What you make of them is up to you.
