How many Powerball numbers in a draw end in the same digit?

Powerball has been drawn as 5 numbers from 69 plus a Powerball from 26 since October 2015. Everything on this page counts only the 1,418 draws since that change.

In 5.4% of Powerball draws, three or more numbers end in the same digit. Chance predicts 5.8%.

Across 1,418 draws that happened 77 times where 83 were predicted. Draws where every number has a different last digit came up 33.4% of the time, against a predicted 35.0%.

How to read this the groups are not equal

Every number belongs to the group of its last digit: 071727 and so on. The groups are not the same size, and they change with the pool. Under a pool of 49 the digit 0 holds only 10203040, because there is no 50. The chance prediction counts each group's size from every draw's own pool, so no digit is handed a bigger or smaller share than it should have.

The dashed band on each bar is the range an appearance count wanders in on its own. A bar inside the band has found nothing.

Two share a last digit, no more 867 839 +3.3%
Three share one 75 80 -6.3%

Predicted counts are exact, added up from each draw's own pool.

The recent run latest 200 draws

In the last 100 draws, 6.0% had three or more numbers ending in the same digit. Over the whole record it is 5.4%, and chance predicts 5.8% for these draws. That is inside the range ordinary variation allows for 100 draws.

A good run says where the measure has been, not where it is going. Each draw is drawn afresh, and every number has the same chance next time whatever its last digit has done lately.

Applied to the latest draw draw 1418 · 2026-10-10

0104193351

This draw held 2 ending in 1 0151

Over the last 100 draws the digit furthest above its predicted share is 4 (+20.3%). The numbers ending in 4 in today's pool are 04142434445464; 1 of them was in the latest draw.

Whichever digit leads, it will always be one of ten, and the leader changes as draws are added. Each number in the pool has the same 5 in 69 chance next time.

Why the top digit is not a discovery

The digit 3 leads, at +5.2%, and 5 trails, at -7.5%. Ten digits always produce a first and a last, whether or not anything is going on. 1 of the ten sit outside that range, which is about what ten comparisons produce on their own.

These figures describe draws that have already happened. They do not say anything about the next one. What you make of them is up to you.
